Terms and Conditions

Reservations. All reservations for the Land tour shown herein may be made through Ancient Medicine Modern World at www.ancientmedicinemodernworld.com. A deposit of $500 per person is required to request reservations. Payment of deposit constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.

 

Final Payment. Final payment is due by September 1, 2008. Payments can be made via check, Visa, and MasterCard.

 

Change in Reservations. A change fee of $50 per change will be charged if the change is made after confirmation and before issuance of documents. Changes made between 60-7 days prior to departure, or after documents are issued, will be charged a $100 per change handling fee. If such changes necessitate cancellation of confirmed air or ground arrangements, unrecoverable costs will be added to the change fee.

 

Cancellations and Refund. All cancellations must be made in writing, and the date of receipt of said cancellation will determine what penalties are to be assessed. Cancellations received up to 60 days prior to scheduled departure date will be subject to a $200 administrative fee per person. Within 60 days, the following cancellation charges apply: 59-30 days, 30% of tour cost; 29-8 days, 50% of the tour cost; 7 days to 1 day before departure, 75% of the tour cost; on or after day of departure, 100% of tour price per person. In addition, any unrecoverable expenses and/or cancellation charges imposed by the vendors will be assessed. There is no refund for unused services after tour commencement. The tour will operate with a minimum of 10 travelers. Please be sure to verify all applicable airfare cancellation fees with your travel agent at time of booking your international flights.

 

Air Tickets, Hotel & Tour Vouchers. International airfare is not included in the cost of the tour. All China-based travel tickets, hotel and tour vouchers will not be issued until full payment is received. 

 

Tour Prices. Tour prices are quoted in US dollars, per person, on a double occupancy basis, and are based on tariffs, costs, schedules and rates of exchange between US dollars and foreign currencies in effect April 1, 2007. Any fluctuation of airfare, land prices or currency exchange rates could result in higher tour cost.

 

Travel Insurance. We require that participants carry travel insurance for this trip. Due to the recent Olympic turmoil, travel insurance will insure participants against trip cancellation, accident and baggage loss. Please email a copy of trip insurance to Shannon at kang33@gmail.com.

 

Hotels. All hotels are 4 stars, subject to availability.

 

Transfers and Sightseeing. Transfers to and from airports and hotels, and sightseeing will be done by private vehicle, taxi, or private motor coach on a seat-in-coach basis.

 

Baggage. Baggage is at "owner's own risk" throughout the tour. Ancient Medicine Modern World is not responsible for lost or damaged baggage. Baggage allowance currently in effect on International flights allows not more than two (2) pieces of checked baggage; combined total dimensions may not exceed 106 inches with no piece larger than 62 inches or exceeding 50 pounds. Additionally, one (1) piece of carry-on luggage is allowed, which may not exceed total dimensions of 45 inches. Within Asia, free baggage allowance on board aircraft is 44 pounds per person. Strict enforcement of these regulations will be adhered to. Excess baggage charges are strictly enforced, and it is the responsibility of the passenger to pay these charges at the airport.

 

Not Included. The tour fare does not include international airfare, optional tours, charges for passports, visas, vaccinations, inoculations, laundry, liquor, excess baggage charges, travel insurance, accident and baggage insurance, telephone or cable charges, items of a personal nature, and any items not specifically listed as included.

 

Health Requirements. Currently China does not require a certificate of vaccination. However, this is subject to change at anytime. Therefore, before traveling, check to be sure you have the latest information regarding immunization requirements. It is the passenger's responsibility to take all precautions with regard to health regulations.

 

Taxes, Services And Gratuities. Tour prices include government and local taxes and service charges on all services included in the itinerary. Customary gratuities to tour guides/local hosts and drivers are also included.  

 

Handling Charges. Please note that all prices quoted include handling charges imposed by Ancient Medicine Modern World and our local agents. Handling charges cover the cost of communications between Ancient Medicine Modern World and our overseas local operators as well as financial transactions and currency fluctuations between the time of booking and the actual date of services rendered, the preparation and shipping of passenger documentation and the promotion of the programs.

 

Travel Documents. A valid passport is required for all tour participants. Visas are required for U.S. citizens visiting China. Your passport must be valid for a period of six months after your scheduled return. Nationals of other countries should check with the respective Consul General office for visa requirements. It is the responsibility of individual passengers to obtain visas. Ancient Medicine Modern World will not be responsible for any additional charges resulting from improper documentation.

 

Responsibility. Ancient Medicine Modern World, The Chi Farm, and China International Travel Service Shanghai China give notice that all tickets and vouchers issued by them, and all arrangements for transport or conveyance or hotel accommodations made by them as agents are made upon the expressed condition that they shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accidents, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned, either by reason or by defect in any vehicle, or through the act or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger(s), or in carrying out the arrangements of the tour(s), or otherwise in connection therewith, or of any hotel proprietor or services, sickness, weather, strikes, war, acts of terrorism, quarantine, other causes or acts of God. All tour itineraries and prices may be affected by alterations in steamship, air or railroad services of the various countries or by other causes. The right is reserved to withdraw any tour announced in this brochure, substitute hotels, and to make such alterations in the itineraries as may be found desirable for the convenience of the parties and the proper carrying out of the tour(s).

 

All prices shown are in U.S. DOLLAR and are based on the present value of foreign currencies in relation to the U.S. Dollar, and in current tariffs, and are subject to confirmation or adjustment (either way) until the day of departure. The right is reserved to cancel the tour prior to departure. In such case, refund of all monies received will constitute full settlement with the passenger. The right is also reserved to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of any tour at any time. The airlines concerned are not held responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time passengers are not on board their planes or conveyances. The passengers' contract in use by the airlines concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airlines and the purchaser of these tours and/or passenger(s). Any and/or all transportation companies herein mentioned shall have or incur no responsibility or liability to any traveler aside from their liability as common carriers.
